The Barbour outdoor clothing company was founded in 1894 by John Barbour, from Galloway, Scotland. Today the company makes a wide range of fashionable wet weather and winter clothing and coloured gumboots. Barbour and holds a royal warrant to supply waterproof and protective clothing and footwear to HM Queen Elizabeth II, HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, and HRH The Prince of Wales.

In addition to its designer gumboots, the company still produces its world famous waxed Barbour jackets. In recent years the company has modernized its range towards a younger image. Lord James Percy, younger brother of the Duke of Northumberland, has been involved in the design and marketing of the company's shooting clothing.

  • Thank you so much for sending the Wellies boots. They are perfect! They arrived on the Monday, and we had just had about 2 inches of rain in the past 36 hours, very wet underfoot! When I arrived home with them I could hear my hungry horse singing out for his dinner, and the 2 dogs (as always) wanting to join us on the usual evening feeding routine, so they were put to good use straight away.

  • After much 'googling' last night, you have convinced me that the Barbours are a superior product. I can see on the Barbour website that they do offer a pink wellie, is it possible for you to get any at all? If not at all possible I'll have a black pair and I'll find some colourful wellie socks to brighten them up a bit.   • Wellies arrived first thing, I am absolutely delighted with them, a perfect fit and fantastic colour. Have been for a lovely long walk with the dog this morning, even paddled in the sea to retrieve her ball, its so lovely to come home with dry feet. Think I had some fellow dog walkers green with envy!!! The Warehouse and Number one shoes can keep their cheap wellies, you cant beat good quality whatever the cost.
