How long will my gumboots take to arrive by post after I have ordered them online?

It typically takes 3 days for gumboots to arrive by mail within New Zealand and up to 5 days for gumboots to arrive in the post when people have ordered them from Australia. Sometimes there can be delays over the Christmas gift shopping period so we would encourage you to order your wellies early for Christmas presents.

Why did wellies.co.nz move from selling Hunter gumboots to Barbour gumboots?

Wellies.co.nz successfully re-introduced the Hunter gumboot range to New Zealand and Australia six years ago. At that time Hunter gumboots were made in Scotland. Hunter then went into receivership and the brand was bought by Pentland. Hunter’s British gumboot manufacturing operations were relocated to China. At that time we were receiving too many complaints about the quality and blemishes of the Chinese made Hunter wellies to continue investing in further shipments of Hunter boots. We were lucky to negotiate the Australia & New Zealand distribution of Barbour’s range of fashionable coloured gumboots. Importantly for us, Barbour wellies are still made in Europe and we are delighted with their quality and durability. Barbours have always been built to the same classic wellington boot style as Hunters.

Are there any retailers I can buy Barbour gumboots from in Auckland?

Do Barbour gumboots offer colours like pink, yellow, red, navy blue?

Barbour periodically add and remove colours from the gumboot range. We stock their latest seasonal range of gumboot colours.

Do you still sell Hunter gumboots online?

We have a residual supply of Hunter wellingtons in various sizes and colours for sale online. Please email us if you wish to purchase any of these.

Do you still sell children’s gumboots?

Barbour do make children’s wellies. We will be bringing these to New Zealand and Australia in the future along with other high quality British outdoor clothing products.

Are Barbour gumboots suitable for gardening?

We are very pleased with the quality of the Barbour gumboots. They are great for gardening.
